Our Charity Program

It is in giving that we receive…

Help kids make a turn for the better.

Memories of our childhood remain with us forever. If you were to ask a white-haired granny what memories of her childhood remain deep within her heart, she would certainly tell you about her childhood swing and how her home was always filled with her mother's laughter and the fragrant smells of her cooking. All these are sweet memories of childhood and we always wish to revisit them. But think of those who do not have memories of a happy and secure childhood, those who never knew the love of a mother and the joy of a happy home? These are the infants who were abandoned by their mothers and left to the care of the hospital, those who were left in a clinic, and even worse those who were dropped in the dark staircase of a huge apartment.

Children are the most vulnerable group in any society, and the orphans and the abandoned are at the greatest disadvantage. All their life they feel the grief of not being loved and needed. And these tragic “throw away children” are usually destined for failure. Children from orphanages are more likely than others to become homeless, criminals, or end their life in suicide. Cosmetic deformities in these unfortunate children are often ignored, adding to their burdens of abandonment and poverty.

Have you thought about helping such children? Who does not aspire to do so?

One good example of philanthropy action in Lithuania is a new program launched by the private not – for – profit organization the Clinic of Hope in conjunction with the Baltic American Clinic designed to provide health care for children who are in need. We have already received significant gifts from some leading companies.

This new program has received recognition by the Charity Fund of First Lady Alma Adamkiene, wife of Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus. This fund, which is dedicated to provide care for homeless children, has kindly agreed to work together with the Clinic of Hope.

The Baltic American Clinic performs consultations, surgeries and treatment procedures for children free of charge: primarily cosmetic surgery for problems such as eye lid deformity, deformed noses, malformed ears, deformities of the lip and palate, revision of scars, burns, and wounds. The vascular laser will be used to remove the red birthmarks known as hemangiomas on the face and elsewhere, and other similar cosmetic problems. Ear-nose-throat surgeons will remove adenoids and tonsils, orthopedists will correct congenital and acquired hand deformities and deformities that involve the foot and toes. Experts in urology and general surgery will also provide care in their areas of expertise.

Our care opens a world of new possibilities for hundreds of children whose lives we touch each year. With your help, we can continue to serve many more children and families. You, too, can help a child's life take a turn for the better. Clinic of Hope and Telecommunication Company " Omnitel" started project "Charity Line".
